Description

XCOM 2: Digital Deluxe Edition

Tactical turn-based strategy with RPG elements. Developed by the studio Firaxis Games, is a direct continuation of the previous Enemy Unknown. The player will sabotage the alien squad by a fighting detachment of resistance, conducting sabotage operations to restore freedom to humanity. The gameplay in XCOM 2: Digital Deluxe Edition is like the last part. You still have a detachment of mercenaries with unique abilities that should try to repel an external threat. Nevertheless, innovations are also quite a few. First, now the player’s main base is constantly moving. That is, this is not the similarity of the hangar, as it was before, but a full-fledged ship built using alien technology. Secondly, from now on the levels will not be repeated. Absolutely every location is generated from scratch, so you will not be able to remember one or another angle. By the way, now your base will depend even more on resources, which leads to the third – a new type of artifact mining missions. Fourthly, it is the introduction of the so-called dark events. Their goal is to insert as many sticks as possible into the wheels of the XCOM team and hinder its development.

What is interesting here is that these operations are carried out by people working for aliens. So do not be surprised too much when your surveillance suddenly opens up or if your adversaries temporarily become stronger. And, of course, you will find a huge number of new opponents like the same vipers – a mixture of sectoid and man. Finally, due to the fact that the developers decided to release the game only on a PC, a special editor will be released along with the project, which will allow players to create mods. Gamers are free to invent and share their own classes, types of enemies and even campaigns on Steam Workshop.

Story events unfold twenty years after XCOM Enemy Unknown. Despite the fact that there were two endings: good, where humanity reflects an alien threat, and bad, in which aliens enslave people, Firaxis Games decided not to bother and choose the latter. Arriving from distant cosmic depths, terrible creatures overpowered all the armies of the Earth. The organization XCOM did not meet its expectations, it was forgotten and abandoned, and the director Bradford fled in an unknown direction. At the moment, the aliens have established a kind of totalitarian regime with full control of society. Alas, but some people went over to their side. Thus, the organization “ADVENT” directly works for them, performing both dirty and propaganda work. As representatives of higher intelligence assure, they want to create a real utopia for people, where there will be neither disease, nor poverty, nor crime. But in fact, behind all this lies something extremely terrible, so it is you, the pitiful remnants of free people, who will have to renew resistance. Do not expect air support and open battles, your allies will henceforth be stealth and sabotage.
