Slitherine has announced that it is publishing yet another 40K strategy game being developed by Black Lab, the makers of Battlestar Galactica Deadlock. It is a tactical strategy game called Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector, in which the Blood Angels dramatically battle tyranids in a diorama with a bold statement that it will be both turn-based and “brutal, dynamic battle”. The developers at Black Lab Games are known for other space strategy games, including the Battlestar Galactica Deadlock and the Star Hammer series.

Movement is based on square tiles, not hexes, and cover seems to decrease accuracy depending on line of sight represented by the shield icon, which fills more cover between units rather than something you hide behind. There are familiar things like observation, in which you set the direction, as well as how far it stretches, and penalties for units trying to shoot past each other while in contact with the base.

Game features

Each attack gives the Marines momentum points that reward you for playing in the spirit of your faction. Points can be spent on horse races (bonus action points) or upgrades.
