Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual

Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual is an adventure game designed for virtual reality devices. The game was created by HappyGiant studio. This is another part of the popular cycle initiated by Sam & Max Hit the Road in 1993. Many veterans of the series contributed to the development, including Steve Purcell, the artist in charge of the comic strip, the brand’s predecessor.

More about the game

According to the tradition of the series, the game is an absurd comedy, but for the first time in the history of the cycle, the player does not control Sam and Max. Instead, we play the role of a cadet who has just started his service with the Freelance Police, an unofficial and self-proclaimed police department in New York. Sam and Max will first test our skills in an obstacle course built in an abandoned fairground with many secrets. We then join the duo patrolling the streets of the city.

Game features

The game combines elements of adventure and arcade. The gameplay consists of a series of different tests that test our ingenuity, reflexes and accuracy. The game only offers single player mode. The game was developed exclusively for virtual reality devices. It’s impossible to play without VR glasses. The game has three-dimensional graphics, made in a cartoon style. A big plus for fans of the brand should be the fact that the voices of the main characters were given by David Knowlin and Dave Boat, that is, the actors who also played these roles in the earlier parts of the cycle.
