S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl is the first part of a post-apocalyptic action-shooter with role-playing elements, an open game world and several endings. Gameplay is a first-person shooter, with quests and free learning environment. Noteworthy is this computer game with several factors: first, it was developed by Ukrainian developers from GSC Game World, and secondly, real topographic data based on archival materials about the Chernobyl nuclear power plant zone are the basis of game locations.
The plot of the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl will tell us about the second explosion that occurred in the vastness of the notorious nuclear power plant in Chernobyl. The explosion marked the emergence of a new territory, called the “Zone”. In its open spaces appear anomalies, artifacts and mutants live. This place has become a tasty, but very dangerous piece for stalkers – artifact hunters. After another fiasco, the Government of Ukraine is making a decision to isolate the Zone from the outside world. So there were roadblocks with armed fighters.
During its release, namely in 2007, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl was a special game because it offered the player a unique living world with its own ecosystem, rules and practices. For example, computer-controlled monsters and NPCs lived their lives in a literal sense, and migrated to the game location.
