The computer game Kursk is not just virtual entertainment, where the plot based on real events is the background for demonstrating gameplay mechanics, but an attempt by developers from the small but extremely ambitious Jujubee studio to bring the tragic story of the death of the submarine Kursk and the entire crew. Before us is a pseudo-documentary media product that tells about the terrible disaster.
As stated by the game developers themselves, who, by the way, had previously engaged in small projects, in particular, released Realpolitiks – a strategy with a serious message, their new game is a mixture of various genres and includes QTE-elements. The first part of the game is a cross between an adventure game and an action-RPG, where there will be a lot of conversations, tasks, communication with the crew, moving around the ship, and much more.
The second half of the gameplay of the game Kursk is assigned directly to the catastrophe itself, which means by itself the appearance of elements of action and aspects of survival. The player will have to learn to quickly navigate in conditions when the submarine is rapidly sinking, all systems fail, the hull gradually collapses under water pressure, the deck is flooded, sparks shoot from everywhere, fire rages and various obstacles appear.
