Field of Glory II: Medieval
Field of Glory II Medieval is the next installment in a series of turn-based tactical games based on the board cycle rules. The game was developed on the basis of Field of Glory II, byzantium Games is responsible for production. The game is based on a gameplay model developed specifically for the game. In it, we focus on turn-based battles on boards divided into squares. This time we command the armies of the late Middle Ages, participating in conflicts from 1040-1270, such as the Mongol invasion, the Anglo-French conflict and the Crusades.
More about the game
We have a choice of 29 historical nations, including the Anglo-Saxons, Scotland, Norway, Kiev, etc. We have over 100 different units to choose from, and in battle we also benefit from the support of generals, increasing the morale and combat potential of command parts. You should also pay attention to factors such as terrain, utilities and construction. Field of Glory II: Medieval allows you to see historical battles like the Battle of Hastings and the Battle of Kresenbrunn to see how things could have turned out differently. In these battles, we can confront the computer or other players online via email. In addition, there are four campaigns in which we participate in successive battles involving, in particular, Alexander Nevsky and the Mongol hordes.
An alternative is the sandbox campaign, which allows you to rule any nation, as well as a random map generator and a built-in map editor. The game doesn’t differ much in graphics from the previous installment in the series. This gives us a simple yet clear board game-specific graphics with faithfully reproduced unit look and feel. The game supports multiplayer games, but to play with others you need a Slitherine PBEM account – the publisher’s own platform.
